WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

Panaji: November 2, 2018 In Panaji Centre for the week ending October 23, 2018, in wholesale,  the prices of moong decreased by Rs.100/- to Rs.200/- per quintal. Parboiled rice outside, wheat Khandya, maida, potatoes, onions increased by Rs. 80/-, Rs.15/- to Rs. 50/-, Rs. 20/- to Rs.60/-, Rs.500/- to Rs.600/-  per  quintal respectively  and eggs large by Rs. 30/- per 100 nos during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like raw rice common, wheat shivri, turdal barshi, moongdal, gramdal, gram kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Ruchi”, rawa, green peas, tomatoes, chillies green and bananas (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

        In the retail, the prices of onion increased by Rs.5/- per kilo and eggs large by Rs.4/- dozen dozen during the week.

         The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal barashi, moongdal, gramdal, moong, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes tomatoes, Chillies green and bananas (Vassai)  remained steady during the week.

The increase and decrease in wholesale price and increase in retail prices were due to increase and decrease in wholesale prices in supplying markets.

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local, jowar Shalu and coconut oil, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.
