WEEKLY REVIEW ON WHOLESALE PRICES OF ESSENTIAL COMMODIITES

Panaji, September 06, 2018 … The statement of market price of important essential commodities  in Panaji Centre as intimated by the Registrar of Co-operative societies for the week ending August 31, 2018 is as follows.

The arrival and prices of rice were steady in all markets during the week, except that of parboiled rice local in all the markets and raw rice common at Margao, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.

The arrival of pulses were steady in all the markets during the week under review.

Prices of moongdal and uraddal remained steady in all the markets during the week. Turdal Barshi and gram Kabuli big at Panaji decreased by Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- and Rs.500/- per quintal respectively, but were steady in other markets. Gramdal at Margao increased by Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets. Masoordal at Panaji increased by Rs. 200/- to Rs. 500/- per quintal, the same at Margao decreased by Rs. 300/-, but was steady at Mapusa market. Moong at Margao decreased by Rs. 300/- to Rs. 500 per quintal, but was steady in other markets. Peasdry at Mapusa increased by Rs. 500/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets.

The arrival of edible oil, gur fine and sugar S-30 remained steady in all the markets during the week, except that of coconut oil at Mapusa market, the arrival of which was noticed during the week under review.

Prices of sunflower oil and coconut oil remained steady in all the markets during the week. Gur fine Margao decreased by Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets. Sugar S-30 at Mapusa decreased by Rs. 50/- per quintal, but was steady in other markets.

The arrival and prices of vegetables remained steady in all the markets during the week under review.

The arrival and prices of coconuts were steady in all the market during the week, except that of coconuts of 120 bharti at Mapusa market, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week under review.

The arrival and prices of betelnuts at Ponda, Sanguelim and Curchorem market sub-yards remained steady during the week, except that of betelnuts new and safed Khoka new at above market sub-yards, the arrival which was not noticed during the week.

 In the above market sub-yards, the prices of betelnut old and Safed Khoka old were traded at Rs. 2250/- and 2100/- per 10kgs respectively in the respective market sub – yards.
