December 27, 2014 … The Goa  Police  welfare society  organized ( Grant- in –Aid), awards function at G.O. mess Altinho today(December 26, 2014).

        The  Children of the members of Goa Police Welfare Ssociety   fight from  STD 1st  to  Degree  level who  have  secured first three  places in the  merit list and also who have secured  90% and  above  from STD Ist  to  Xth  for the academic year  2013-14 were awarded at the function.

        Inspector General of Police Shri Sunil Garg was the Chief Guest and presented the awards. DIG’s Shri V. Rengenathan and K.K. Vyas and Superintendent of Police (HQ) Shri Vishram Borkar were also present.

It may be noted that the former taleigao mla and present st cruz mla babush monsoratte had already informed of giving a land to the ccp for setting up of a state-of-the-art garbage treatment facility on Taleigao plateau.

PANAJI PS: Shri Mahesh Gaonkar r/o Models Maridien- Dona Paula- Panaji-Goa  complained that on 01.09.2000 at 03.50  hrs  at Panaji Police Station, accused namely1) Mr. D. H. Kenaudekar along with his brother, 2) G.H. Kenaudekar and 3)  Mrs. Anamika Kenaudekar criminally trespassed into the Panaji Police Station and criminally intermediated, abused and threatened  him when he was PI Panaji  Police Station and staff on duty at Panaji  Police station  by banging office tables, demanding  release of two accused person  namely 1)  Mr. Anthony Fernandes and Mariano Fernandes who were arrested u/s sec 151 Cr. P.C. Cr.No.291/14 u/s 353, 447, 504, 506 r/w 34 IPC is registered. PSI B .Z. Pawar is I.O.

2) Complaint upon behalf of the State that on 14.07.14 at 21.20 hrs, near Goa Motor driving school-Panaji, accused namely Vinesh Narayanan P.K. r/o c/o Prince Bakery-Taleigao N/O Kerala riding Yamaha M/cycle No. KL-46-J-1495 rode the same in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Taleigao Church to Tonca-Caranzalem and when reached at Goa Motor driving School- Panaji, dashed a Honda Brio car No.GA-07-E-7121 and due to said impact said motor cycle caught fire and was damaged completely and also caused injuries to pillion rider namely Devanand Kumar, age 22 yrs, c/o cafe Azad- Taleigao market- Panaji due to fall on the road. Cr.No.292/14 u/s 279, 337 IPC is registered.

3)  On 17.07.14, one  person namely  Anish Kishore Gadekar, age 30 yrs.,  r/o  Amral Bandh-Taleigao-Panaji committed suicide by hanging near Essar Galaxy building, Amrol Bandh-Taleigao. Dead body preserved in GMC Morgue Bambolim for PME. U.D.No.50/14 u/s 174 Cr. P. C. is registered.

VALPOI PS: Complaint on behalf of the State that on 17.07.14 at 19.15 hrs., near CHC-Valpoi, unknown driver of  truck No. GA-04-T-5410 drove in rash and negligent  manner  while  proceeding  from Honda  to Valpoi and  when reached  near  CHC- Valpoi, dashed to Passion M/cycle No.GA-02-P-9635 which  was coming  from opposite  direction  causing  grievous  injury  to M/ cycle rider namely Shahabuddin Badage, age 30 yrs., r/o  Bhuipal- Sattari and   accused person fled away from the spot without informing police. Accused driver namely Nawaz Shaikh, age 31 yrs., r/o Vaploi arrested and released on bail. Cr.No.51/14 u/s 279, 338 IPC and Sec 134 (a) (b) of M.V. Act is registered. HC-4169 is I.O.

Organisers of the festival said that they are preparing a special section to showcase Chopra’s work, who is known for his landmark films such as ‘Deewar’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Silsila’, ‘Chandni’ and ‘Dil to Pagal Hai’ during his career that spanned over five decades.

Chief Executive Officer of Entertainment Society of Goa, Manoj Srivastava, said they would pay cinematic tribute to the departed soul during the ten-day-long festival that would commence from November 20.

According to him, they had earlier planned a tribute to the director at the festival, but will now pay a homage to him.

RICH TRIBUTES PAID TO COPS ON POLICE COMMEMORATION DAY

October 21, 2014 …. Police Commemoration Day 2014, was observed in Goa today along with other parts of the country. Tributes were paid to those who laid down their lives, while performing their duties. Every year, October 21 is observed as police commemoration day in memory of CRPF personnel, who were killed by the Chinese in 1959.

The arms were reversed by the Police at the Martyrs Memorial, to pay homage to the departed souls.

Every year on October 21, rich tributes are paid to the policemen who sacrifice their lives while discharging their duties. The day is observed as the National Police Commemoration Day, in their remembrance. The history behind the observance of this day on October 21 is said to be that in 1959, on the same day, twenty Indian soldiers were attacked by the Chinese troops in Ladakh, during which ten were killed and seven were imprisoned and others managed to escape. The dead bodies of the martyred policemen were handed over to India by the Chinese troops on November 28, 1959 and then, their cremation was held with full Police honours at the Hot springs in Ladakh.

The names of 662 Police Martyrs and paramilitary forces who have lost their lives in service of the country during 1.9.2013 to 31.8.2014 were  read out by the DGP  to acknowledge with pride the supreme sacrifices made by them.

After the commemoration parade, DGP and other Police Officers laid wreathes at the martyrs memorial  in commemoration of the Police personnel who have lost their lives while on duty and in combating enemy.

Others who were present were Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shri V. Ranganathan, S.Ps, Dy. S.Ps , Police  Medical Officer, retired police officers, Representatives of Home Guards and Civil Defence organisation and others.

PANAJI  PS: Complaint upon behalf of the state that on 06.08.14 at 14.00 hrs.  at 18th June Road Opp. to Hotel Kamat- near Church Square-Panaji, accused Abdul Khan @ Mohid s/o Samsher Khan r/o Ramnagar-Betim n/o U.P., riding his Activa Scooter No.GA-07-D-2481, rode the same in rash and negligence manner while proceeding through 18th June Road from Bombay bazaar towards Church Square & while overtaking his scooter in a wrong direction dashed against Mitsubishi Car no. GA-07-C-8419, due to which accused rider fell on the road sustaining injuries to his right hand. Cr.No.319/14 u/s 279 IPC & Sec-3 & 196 M.V. Act is registered. HC- Ulhas S. Khot is I.O.

VALPOI PS: Shri Vilas Pandurang Patil Manager of Sai Sagar Industries-Honda-Sattari complained that on 10.08.2014 prior to 07.30 hrs. accused Kasturi w/o Laxman Rathod n/o Hubli-Karnataka with her two minor children entered into above industries shed by removing window rods and committed theft of machine parts W/rs.2,000/- & thereafter he caught her red handed when she again came to steal steel items. BICHOLIM PS: Shri Pandurang Vithu Palkar r/o Mulgao-Bicholim complained that on 09.08.2014 at 21.35 hrs, some unknown accused  person riding unknown M/Cycle while proceeding from Bicholim to Mulgao and when reached near Laxmi Leela hall-Valshi dashed him from the back side causing injuries  to him, further accused rider fled away from the spot. PONDA PS: Shri Santosh s/o Balu Lamani r/o Curti-Ponda complained that between 07.08.2014 at 22.00 hrs to 08.08.2014 at 07.00 hrs., some unknown accused persons committed theft of his Splendor M/Cycle no. VERNA PS: Complaint upon behalf of the state that on 10.08.2014 at 09.40 hrs, at Bethoda Classic Bldg.-Cortalim, accused Survesh s/o Anand Shirodkar r/o Shiroda-Ponda riding his Aviator Scooter No.GA-08-Y-3618, rode the same in rash and negligent manner, while proceeding from Shiroda to Curtalim and when reached near Bethoda Classic Bldg.-Cortalim in process of overtaking a truck he saw one Wagon R car in opposite direction, lost his control over his scooter and fell on the road along with scooter, as a result  sustained grievous injuries to the pillion rider of the said scooter namely Shauban @ Anandi w/o Anand Shirodkar age-47 yrs r/o Bhatwda-Shiroda, who later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing medical treatment at Hospicio Hospital Margao. Cr.No.110/14 u/s 279, 304-A IPC is registered. PSI-D.K. Bhat is I.O.

Pollution notices to 16 industries in Goa

Sixteen companies in the state were today issued show cause notice by Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) for failing to install pollution monitoring equipment despite several warnings.

GSPCB member secretary Lavinsons Martin has issued showcause notices to all the 16 companies, asking them to reply within 15 days.

The companies that were issued notices include state’s only power generating plant, M/s Reliance Infrastructure Limited, tyre manufacturing company – MRF, steel manufacturing units — Goa Sponge and Power Limited, Shrithik Ispat, Sesa Goa Limited’s Pig Iron Plant, United Spirits Limited,  Ingrown Hair Scars Removal United Breweries Limited, Shraddha Ispat Private Limited, Nicomet Industries Limited, Ambey Metallic Limited and Aparant Iron and Steel Private Limited, fertilizer manufacturing industry – Zuari Industries Limited (ZIL) and pharma companies – Syngenta India Limited and Merck (India) limited, and liquor firm – John Distilleries and a state government run Sanjivani Sahakari Sakkar Karkhana Limited, a sugar factory.

2) Shri Sukhdev Nishad r/o Oasis complex Alto Nagali, Donapaula-Goa complained that on 04.08.14 at 21.32 hrs.,  unknown  accused person  gave phone calls  to  him,  when he was  at his  residence  and demanded of sum of Rs. 5 lakhs and  further  threatened  him  that if  he failed  to give  the said amount  he will  kidnap  his children. 3)  Shri  Amrut  Singh C/o Animal  Rescue Squad, Bailipeth  Bicholim  Goa  complained that on  05.08.14 at TNK, five accused  persons namely 1)  Malik Jan, age 42 yrs., 2) Samir  Bepari, age 30 yrs., 3) Ashpak Bepari, age 25 yrs., 4)  Kumar Faruk Bepari,, age 21 yrs.,  N/o Belgaum, 5) Arman s/o Kasim Bepari, age 24 yrs. N/o Mumbai presently all r/o Mala Panaji Goa with their common intention  illegally  carried a business of  slaughtering of cow.  Mr.  Leo D’Souza s/o F D’Souza r/o Candolim complained that on 02.08.14 between 01.30 hrs.  to 02.00 hrs.   unknown  culprit/s  effected entry  into the  room of complainant ‘s  son  by breaking  latch  of the  balcony  door and  committed  theft of cash  of Rs.5500/-, camera make  Nikon, wrist  watch  mobile  external  charger, ATM card of Axis bank and other  mobile  charger all W/Rs.39250/-. Mother of the Victim boy complained that on 27.06.14 at 13.00 hrs., unknown accused person  kidnapped her son, age 06 yrs., and her husband  from the  lawful guardianship of the complainant. Cr.No.126/14 u/s 363, 365 IPC and 8 of Goa Children Act is registered. PSI S. Majik is I. O.

BICHOLIM PS:

On 05.08.14, one male  person  namely  Narayan  Dattaram  Paikuchelkar, age 65 yrs., r/o  Sanquelim was found lying dead near Dattamandir, Sanquelim due to  Electrocution. Body handed over to the relative of deceased.  U.D.No.58/14 u/s 174 Cr. P. C. stands registered.

 VERNA PS:

Shri Manoj S. Mhalsekar r/o Karwar complained that on 30.07.14 at between 14.15 hrs.  to 14.30 hrs., at IDC Sancoale accused No.1 Mr.  Gauthem  without taking  care and  precaution negligently  operated  bending  machine  and accused no.2  owner of the company  Pravin Patil  failed to take care in providing safety at the  workplace resulting into  grievous  injury to the fingers of the complainant’s brother while working on bending machine. Cr.No.108/14 u/s 287, 338 IPC stands registered.

MAINA CURTORIM PS:

Shri Caetano s/o Raul Mascarenhas r/o Uzaro Raia, Salcete Goa complained that in between 04.08.14 at 23.00 hrs.  to 05.30 hrs.,  on 05.08.14  at  Uzaro, Raia, unknown  accused person  effected entry into his house through bathroom windows glass and committed theft of cash of Rs.8,000/- approx., two wrist  watches amounting  Rs.8,000/- and  keys of Skoda and Fiat car belonging  to the complainant.Cr.No.137/14 u/s  457, 380 IPC stands registered.  PSI Pradeep Velip is I. Charas W/Rs. 4,50,000/- (approx) seized at Sinquerim, Candolim from Nigerian National by the staff of Anti Narcotic Cell Police Station

24-dec-2012 … Anti Narcotic Cell of Goa Police under the leadership of PI, Suraj Halarnkar, PC 4835 Jitendra Kambli, PC 6120 Prakash Polekar, PC 6292 George D’ Cunha, PC 6193 Sandesh Volvoikar and PC 6418 Mayur Gawade and under the overall supervision of Dy.S.P. ANC Shri. Nilu Raut Dessai has arrested accused Anthony Chike s/o Okoye, 32 yrs, Nigerian National who was found in illegal possession of 2.933 kgs of charas. The approximate value of the seized contraband is approximately Rs. 4,50,000/- in the international market.

On 23/12/2012 PI, Suraj Halarnkar received a reliable information that on 24/12/2012 one male foreigner of Negro Race, aged about 30 to 35 yrs, having strong built, tall height, Dark complexion, wearing red colour T-Shirt and cargo pant will be coming in one black colour Honda Activa Scooter to deliver Narcotic drugs i.e. charas to his prospective customer on 24/12/2012, between 03.00 hrs to 04.00 hrs at Aguad jail – Helipad Junction Road, Sinquerim, Candolim, Bardez -Goa. Accordingly the Raiding Party was organized. The team positioned themselves Aguad jail – Helipad Junction Road, Sinquerim, Candolim, Bardez. The team was able to apprehend Anthony Chike s/o Okoye, 32 yrs, Nigerian National presently residing at Candolim, Goa. On subsequent search of his person, after observing mandatory guidelines, the Raiding Party seized 2.933 kgs of charas, one black and blue colour shoulder bag and black colour Honda Activa scooter bearing No. GA-03-K-0125 with ignition key and two other keys from the possession of Anthony Chike. Accordingly, Crime No. 13/2012 under appropriate sections of NDPS Act was registered against the accused person.

The accused was previously arrested by Calangute Police Station in their Police Station Crime No. 239/10 u/s 21 (b) & 20 (b) (ii) for the possession of 11 grams of Cocaine and 68 grams of Charas. The accused was subsequently released on bail. The case is pending trial.

The accused will be produced before Hon’ble JMFC Mapusa and Police Custody remand is being sought for further investigation. Further investigation is in progress.
