Jual Oram in presence of Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant; Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Ramesh Tawadkar; Minister for Social Welfare, Shri. Subhash Phaldessai and others inaugurated flagship programme Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan a Mega Event organised by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and The Directorate of Tribal Welfare under Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhgwan Birsa Munda at Municipal Council Hall, Sanguem today.
CM, Dr Pramod Sawant said, schemes of 18 Departments should reach to the 25 villages of the State which have been identified under Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. Government is implementing all the schemes meant for Tribals. Tribal Department has been revamped. Establishment of Tribal Commission and Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Limited is the major work done by his Government he added.
Dr Sawant said that first of its kind Tribal Research Centre has been started in Sanguem to study the problems of the tribals including their health problems, their culture and others. The Tribal Museum at Farmagudi will be completed soon. Government has provided a platform to the tribals to sell their products like Kunbi saree, shawl and jackets. He said in coming three months Kunbi village will be completed in Sanguem by spending 10 Crores from Union Government. Till now 3500 forest right tribal sanads are issued. Government is working on mission mode and target has been set that all the sanads will be issued by December 19, 2025 he said. Government is working for the last person of the community he said.
Along with tribals all other needy should get the benefit of the schemes and for that Government machinery is working, he said. Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan is the idea of PM Narendra Modi which is going on in 597 Districts of the Country to see that not a single person is left behind to take the benefit of various State and Central sponsored schemes meant for Tribals. Government is totally devoted to support the tribals and appealed to them to come forward to derive benefit of the schemes.
Union Minister, Shri Jual Oram said, Union Government has identified all the needs of the tribals and is working on it. Rs.79,000 crores budget has been made for three years and 18 Union ministries will work on Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. Pucca Houses, strengthening of road infrastructure in rural area, potable Water supply through taps, electricity under revamped distribution sector, off grid solar through new solar power scheme, improved access to education, health coverage and nutrition, providing mobile network in Villages, sustainable agriculture, promoting fish culture ecosystem and on various other fields work will be undertaken. There will be no shortage of the fund, he reiterated.
Speaker, Shri Ramesh Tawadkar said, Government is working on the basis of Antyoday, Gramoday and Sarvoday for the upliftment of the last person and betterment of the society. More than 20 schemes are there for the tribals. Goa can be a model State for the all-round development of the Tribals he added.
While welcoming Minister, Shri Subhash Phaldessai said, State Government is working tirelessly to bring Janjatiya in main stream and for all round development and welfare of the people of the State.
Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri Sadanand Tanavade said, the response for the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan is really amazing. Scheme of the Government should reach every needy. While country is moving towards Viksit Bharat not a single person should left behind, he remarked.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi has recently launched a new scheme, Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram-Utkarsh Abhiyan, which will be covering 63,000 villages all over India. In the State of Goa, 25 villages have been identified under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram-Utkarsh Abhiyan.
On the occasion various benefits were handed over to the beneficiaries under the different 15 State and Central Government schemes at the hands of the dignitaries. The public also took the benefit of the health check-up, cancer detection camp and Dental Health check-up camps organised as part of the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, awareness and benefit saturation camp as Indias largest Tribal Empowerment Campaign. Two buses for providing transport facility free of cost for students under District Mineral Fund were flagged off on the occasion.
13 Government Departments were set up stalls to serve the public to avail the benefits of various Government schemes.
MLA, Shri Ganesh Gaonkar; Chairperson, Sanguem Municipal Council, Smt Santiksha Gadkar; Zilla Panchayat Member, Shri Suresh Kepekar; Chairman, Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Limited, Shri Vasudev Gaonkar; Secretary, Tribal Welfare, Smt Chesta Yadav, IAS and District Collector South, Smt Egna Cletus, IAS were present on the occasion.
