Goan Reporter: MLA Deviya Rane Flags tragic death of Linesman Chandru Gaonkar; Calls for Safety Reforms

MLA Dr Deviya Deviya Rane raised the tragic death of Late Shri Chandru Gaonkar, a linesman from V.P. Morlem, Sattari, who was electrocuted while on duty. The MLA expressed concern over this incident and other recent deaths of linesmen due to electric shocks while performing fieldwork. She urged the Hon. Minister for Power to conduct a thorough investigation into these incidents, identify lapses in safety protocols, and take immediate steps to ensure the safety of all field staff. The MLA also called for collaboration with technical experts to implement sustainable safety measures, provision of proper training and protective equipment for linemen, and fair compensation and support for the families of deceased workers.
