MLA Jit Arolkar, through a Calling Attention Motion in the Assembly, expressed concern over the growing number of Dhiriyo (bullfight) events taking place across Goa. Emphasizing that Dhiriyo is deeply rooted in Goan tradition and often tied to village feasts and local cultural celebrations, Arolkar urged the state government to consider enacting a legal framework to regularize and safeguard the sport. He stressed that regulation would help maintain public safety while preserving cultural heritage.
