Goan Reporter: MMC to Notify Baina and Vasco Fish Markets, Cracks Down on Sterilization Irregularities and Illegal Constructions

The Mormugao Municipal Council has resolved to notify the Baina and Vasco fish markets under its jurisdiction, with certain conditions. All traditional fish vendors and registered fishermen will be allowed to operate in these markets. The council also criticized agencies responsible for animal sterilization, accusing them of negligence and charging for sterilizing privately-owned animals. Additionally, MMC discussed concerns over illegal constructions in municipal areas being used commercially, in view of a PIL filed in the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
