Goan Reporter News: Second Edition of National Red Run In Goa on November 10

The National Aids Control Organization under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare will organize National Red Run at Miramar Circle on November 10, 2024 in the state of Goa.

The finale will be followed by prize distribution ceremony which will be attended by students from various colleges, NGO’s and various Government Department Officials.

The joint meeting of stake holders conveyed to discuss on the event preparedness was held at Directorate of Health Services recently. Dr. Lalitha Umraskar, Project Director, Goa State Aids Control Society chaired the meeting. Shri Vedithe Benjamin Franklin, Consultant,  IEC and MS, NACO and Smt. Parul Singh, Deputy Director, Youth Wing besides other state Government Officers attended the meeting and discussed threadbare on various aspects as regards to Red Run event.

The Red Run event will be of 10 km distance, wherein three winners from different states and Union Territories will be selected. Two Kms run is open for general public and students in the state.

The idea behind in organizing this activity is to generate awareness among youth and to actively involve them in disseminating information related life threatening disease i.e. HIV/AIDS besides adolescent health, mental health and other public health issues in the state.
