20-05-2013 … Spokesperson of the state bharatiya janata party and commissioner for nri affairs dr wilfred mesquite on Monday blamed the state congress party for using political tactics at the centre for the withdrawal of the newly started entry tax by the state government ….

It may be noted that alleging political interference the state chief minister manohar parrikar had on Saturday said that a director level officer had no right to write a letter to the state government asking the goa state government to take necessary measures to take steps for withdrawal of undue levy of taxes/fees, including the newly started entry tax …

It may be noted that In a hard-hitting letter to the state Principal Secretary, Public Works Department and Transport, R K Verma, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had asked the state government to take “immediate necessary measures to avoid harassment to truckers and transporters and take steps for withdrawal of undue levy of taxes and fees, including the newly started entry tax.

Speaking to goanreporter bjp spokesperson dr Wilfred mesquite said it was the state congress party who were trying every steps to stop parrikar led government good running administration in the state

Mesquita said the tax which was imposed by the state pwd department had nothing to do with the central transport ministry and therefore the letter sent by the central officer was null and void
