Panaji: January 26, 2026:The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at the office of the Deputy Collector, Bicholim, today. Speaking on the occasion, Bicholim MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye reiterated Government’s commitment towards the overall development of Bicholim taluka and added that development remains a top priority. Dr. Shetye also emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving the vision of Swayampurna Goa 2037 and urged upon the youth to shoulder the responsibility in shaping a better tomorrow. He assured that the Bicholim Bus Stand would be inaugurated by the next Republic Day Mayem MLA Shri Premendra Shet, while addressing the gathering, urged citizens to remember the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and to work continuously to preserve the nation’s identity and pride. Zilla Parishad Members Shri Sundar Naik, Shri Mahesh Sawant, Smt. Kunda Mandrekar, and Shri Padmakar Malik were present for the function. Also attended were Shri Shubham Naik, Deputy Collector; Shri Shailendra Dessai, Mamlatdar, along with other dignitaries and officials.
