Goan Reporter: MLA Michael Lobo calls for a ban on glass and plastic on beaches

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has termed tourist injuries caused by glass and plastic waste on beaches a “serious issue” and emphasized the need for better public discipline. He noted that public drinking is already treated as a nuisance and highlighted the introduction of a bottle deposit system as a preventive measure. The issue was raised by MLA Michael Lobo following an incident where a tourist was injured. Lobo called for a complete ban on glass bottles and plastic bags on beaches, along with strict penalties for violators.
