Goan Reporter:ONLINE BOOKING OF SLOTS FOR GMC OPD SERVICES FROM FEB 4

In order to facilitate ease of booking of appointments for OPD services in Goa Medical College (GMC) thereby eliminating  the requirement of physical presence in queues for getting token of appointments for OPD services, the Government have commenced online booking of slots for OPD services in GMC with effect from February 4, 2026.

Initially, on trial basis online booking shall be made available for general public for 100 OPD slots each of General Medicine, General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedic and Dermatology (Skin) Department with effect from February 4, 2026. Public can avail this online OPD booking facility by visiting the website https://www.gmcgoa.edu.in.

Each patient has to register themselves through a mobile based OTP system and fill in basic details or alternately get their details fetched from ABHA card database or DDSSY card database for completing the registration process. Every new patient who wants to avail this online appointment facility shall pay a onetime fee of Rs. 100/- (for Indian Nationals) and Rs. 250/- (for Foreign Nationals) which shall be valid for 2 year duration irrespective of number of appointments to be made in the two year period.

Upon Successful booking of slot, a confirmation slip shall be generated through the system which patient has to produce at the concerned OPD. This online slot booked shall ensure services at the concerned OPD in GMC based on the availability of Doctor on the said date. Patients who have booked through online mode are requested to be present at the concerned OPD at least half an hour in advance before the booked slot for smooth and hassle free service.

Based on the feedback and the response for this online mode of appointment, the booking slots shall be extended to all the departments in a phase-wise manner. Further, the offline appointment process for the balance slots shall continue parallely which can be availed on the same day through existing queue system in GMC.

The online booking slots shall be available for the general public for booking for the immediate next 7 days and the booking for the subsequent day shall close on the preceding day at 5.00 p.m. For example, a patient on February 4th  shall be able to book any of the slots for the next 7 days. However, for appointment on February 5th , the slots shall be closed post 5.00 p.m. on February 4th itself. The number of vacant online slots remaining at the end of the day shall be added to the offline slots on the subsequent day which shall be available to the public through the regular offline process.
