Goan Reporter:CM LEADS STATE IN PAYING TRIBUTES TO MARTYRS

PANAJI, JANUARY 30, 2026::Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant led the State in paying tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting for the nation. Dr Sawant paid floral tributes. The police band played the Last Post and on its culmination a two-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs’ sacrifice. Present were Chief Secretary, Dr V. Candavelou, IAS, DGP, Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, Collector and District Magistrate, North, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, Shri K.R Chaurasia, IPS, President of the Goa, Daman and Diu Freedom Fighters Association, Shri Rohidas Desai were among those present. January 30 is remembered as Martyrs Day or Hutatama Diwas in memory of Mahatma Gandhi who was assassinated on January 30, 1948.
