Panaji: February 4, 2026:Vijnana Bharati, National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) and Goa University are organizing Fourth World Ocean Science congress from 23-26 Feb. 2026, a biannual international level conclave, where maritime countries in and around India will participate to provide common platform for all stakeholders of the ocean sector to meet, discuss and address common problems and priorities that need urgent attention. In this connection, as a prelude, to create awareness among the student community, about the importance of the ocean as source of non-conventional energy, their importance in biological / non biological resources, maritime opportunities and challenges, role of ocean in climate change etc., a series of school visits by eminent resource personnels, competition not only at high school, higher secondary school, Under graduate and post graduate students, but also competition for UG teachers of the state were undertaken. In this regards, Goa College of Agriculture held elocution and essay writing competition for UG / PG teachers from colleges across the state of Goa on 3rd  and 4th February. Several teachers from various colleges actively participated in the program. The winners of both the competition will be awarded with cash prize, memento and certificate of merit during WOSC conference.
