Panaji, February 05, 2026:The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Goa, has undertaken capacity-building initiatives in Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for faculty members of Higher Education Institutions (HEI)s across the state of Goa. Recognizing that the application of AI is discipline-specific, DHE has developed a structured framework to train faculty from 69 disciplines, clustered into six discipline-specific clusters. For the implementation of this initiative, DHE has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur, thereby enabling the participation of national and international subject-matter resource experts in the programme. The training programme has been designed in the format of one-week training sessions for each cluster. In this context, the training of five clusters, beginning with the Applied Sciences cluster, covering disciplines such as Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Electronics, Architecture, Agriculture, Education, Design, Fine Arts, Culinary Studies, and Hospitality, was successfully conducted in November 2025. Subsequently, the training for the remaining four clusters, namely Science, Social Sciences, Commerce and Management, Law, Humanities, and Languages, commenced on 12th January 2026 and continued until 5th February 2026. Through this initiative, DHE aims to train approximately 500 faculty members from HEIs across the state of Goa.
