Goan Reporter:THE COLLECTOR DIRECTS NECESSARY MEASURES FOR UPCOMING PUBLIC EVENTS

Panaji : February 10, 2026: The Collector and district Magistrate has directed the Deputy Collectors and Sub – Divisional Magistrates of both districts to plan, supervise, and monitor all arrangements within their respective jurisdictions in view of the forthcoming public celebrations of Shigmo, Carnival, and Shivaji Jayanti across South Goa and Kushavati Districts during the month of February and March 2026, which are expected to attract large public gatherings, necessary administrative measures will be put in place to ensure maintenance of law and order, public safety, and effective crow management across both districts. This will be in close co-ordination with the police Department, Municipal bodies, Health Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Transport Department, and other concerned line departments. Adequate deployment of executive Magistrates and police personnel will be ensured at major venues, and necessary traffic diversion plans, parking arrangements and public advisories will be issued in advance in coordination with the traffic police. Event organizers and stakeholders are required to ensure compliance with applicable noice regulations, safety norms, and structural guidelines for sound systems, DJs, floats, and stages. The Collector has also directed that necessary arrangements for medical support, ambulances, fire tenders and emergency response teams also to be positioned at major event locations to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the festivities. The District administration seeks the cooperation of the public in maintaining peace, safety, and harmony during the celebrations.
