Goan Reporter:CREATING SAFE WORKPLACE FOR WOMEN THROUGH SHe-Box Portal – UNDER POSH ACT, 2013

Panaji: February 20, 2026:The SHe Box Portal is a unique initiative brought by the Ministry of Women and Child Development for effective implementation of the provisions under POSH Act, 2013 and provides a publicity available centralized repository of information related to internal Committees and Local Committees within the Country, whether in Government or private sector.

 

The details of the SHe Box portal and mechanism have been made available to an aggrieved woman under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act, 2013)

The key features of SHe Box Portal are, the portal serves as a unified platform for women across the Country to file complaints of Sexual Harassment regardless of whether they work in the public or private sector; Users can easily submit their complaints online through the Portal. The user friendly interface ensures that the process is straight forward and accessible; To enhance the Portal’s user friendliness and provide an improved experience for users, a multi-lingual support feature has been introduced breaking language barriers and enabling women from different linguistic and social backgrounds to interact with the portal seamlessly; Once a complaint is submitted, it is automatically forwarded to the relevant internal Committee or Local Committee of the concerned workplace, based on the selection made by the complainant; Complainants can track the status of their complaints in real time, receiving updates on the progress and any action taken. This transparency helps ensure accountability and prompt resolution.

Every workplace has to ensure the implementation of POSH Act, 2013, failure shall attract penalty which may extend to Rs. 50,000/- as prescribed under Section 26 of the POSH Act, 2013.

For registering Complaints aggrieved women can visit She-Box portal https://shebox.wcd.gov.in/ and requirements to register are Valid Email ID and Mobile No. Click on “register your complaint” on the homepage and the complaint will be sent to the concerned Internal/Local Committee directly.
