Panaji: May 18, 2026The Phase-I of Census 2027 namely the House Listing Operations (HLO), that took place in the State from April 16, 2026 to May 15, 2026 has been successfully completed in the State of Goa. The Operation was conducted efficiently across the State using a dedicated mobile application-based digital platform, marking a significant step towards technology-driven census operations.
The Directorate of Census Operations, Goa, expressed sincere gratitude to the people of Goa for their active cooperation and support during the House Listing Operations. They further thanked to all enumerators, supervisors, district administration officials, local bodies, and other stakeholders whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the exercise.
The House Listing Operations covered comprehensive enumeration of houses, households and associated amenities in both urban and rural areas of Goa.
Enumerators and supervisors carried out the exercise with dedication and professionalism, ensuring timely completion of the operation. Extensive training programmes were organized prior to commencement of the exercise to familiarize field staff with the digital application and operational procedures.
The successful implementation of the mobile app-based HLO reflects the Government’s commitment towards modernizing census processes through digital technology, transparency and efficient data management systems.
The information collected during this phase will provide an important statistical foundation planning, governance, infrastructure development, and implementation of welfare programmes. Preparations for the next phase of Census 2027, namely Population Enumeration are in progress and further details will be announced separately.
