The Goa Konkani Academy has decided to present its Konkani Sahitya Puraskar and Konkani Bhasha Seva Puraskar for the year 2025 and 2026 and invited applications and recommendations for these awards which will be presented in two categories.
There are a total of nine awards for Best Literature / Book in the first category. Awards will be given in literary categories as poetry, fiction/novel, playwriting, essay/travelogue, research / classical, review, children’s literature, translation and best literature / book for a Konkani writer from outside Goa.
The awards will be presented for two years, 2025 and 2026, and will be valid for the three preceding year i.e. 01 January 2022 to 31 December 2024 for the year 2025 and 01 January 2023 to 31 December 2025 for the year 2026.
The best books published during this period will be considered for the 2025 & 2026, year awards. Each of these awards is worth Rs. 25,000/-. The Academy will also award a Literature/Book Prize of Rs. 25000 to writer from outside Goa. Its terms and conditions are the same as for the Best Literature / Book Awards. However, it will be given to any one literary genre.
The Konkani Bhasha Seva Awards category includes the Sahitya Pratibha Award and the Sahitya Pradnya Award. Two awards of Rs.50,000/- will be presented to a person above 50 years of age for outstanding contribution in the fields of literature and research.
The Goa Konkani Academy has also announced other awards such as the Academy Yuva Chaitanya Award, Konkani Media Skills Award, Shanai Goenbab Konkani Bhasha Seva Award, Madhav Manjunath Bhasha Seva Award, Konkani Kala Seva Award, Konkani Digital Art Award, Konkani Seva Sanstha Award.
The booklets providing detailed information regarding these two-years awards 2025-2026 are available at the office of Academy. Interested candidates may apply at the Academy, Goa Sanchar Bhavan, 5th Floor, BSNL, Patto, Panaji. The applications along with the recommendations of the eligible individuals/institutions for the several awards for these two years should reach the office of the Academy by June 22, 2026 and the Academy will not accept applications received after the given deadline.
