Marking a significant step towards strengthening police infrastructure in the State, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Goa Police Headquarters Building will be held on June 18, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Police Headquarters Complex, Panaji. The ceremony will be held at the hands of Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant. The project is aimed at creating a modern administrative facility capable of meeting the evolving requirements of contemporary policing and public service.

Envisioned as a modern and citizen-centric administrative hub, the new Ground Plus Two Police Headquarters Building will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹45.62 crore through the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). The project is expected to be completed by May 2027. Once operational, the facility will provide improved infrastructure, enhanced operational efficiency, and better working conditions for police personnel while strengthening administrative services.

Building on the Government’s commitment to modernising the Goa Police, the initiative reflects continued efforts to strengthen policing through improved infrastructure, advanced technology, and enhanced institutional capacity. The project also carries special significance as the redevelopment of the Police Headquarters complex was first envisioned by former Chief Minister Late Shri Manohar Parrikar, whose vision for stronger public institutions continues to guide development initiatives in the State.

Coinciding with Goa Revolution Day, observed on June 18, the foundation stone laying ceremony carries special significance for the State. The day commemorates the historic movement launched by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and brave Goans in 1946, which ignited Goa’s freedom struggle against Portuguese rule. The occasion continues to symbolise courage, determination, and the spirit of progress that shaped Goa’s journey towards liberation and development.

The programme will be attended by Minister for Revenue, Shri Atanasio Monserrate, Chairperson of GSIDC, MLA Shri Michael Lobo, Mayor of Corporation of the City of Panaji, Shri Rohit Monseratte and other officials.
