Goan Reporter:BIRTH AND DEATH REGISTRATION ACTIVITIES NOW ON CRS PORTAL

The Registrar General of India (ORGI), Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that the State of Goa is migrating from the existing State Portal to the Central Civil Registration System (CRS) Portal with effect from July 01, 2026 for carrying out birth and death registration related activities.

The migration process, the existing birth and death from the year 1971 till June 30, 2026 available in the State Portal shall be integrated with the  Central CRS Portal. The records which are successfully pushed and integrated into the Central CRS Portal shall thereafter be available on the Centrak CRS Portal for availing various citizen services related to birth and death registration.  Such records shall be frozen in the State Portal and certificates and other related services shall be provided through the Centra CRS Portal only.

The existing State Portal shall continue to remain available only for issuance of birth and death certificates in respect of records which are yet to be pushed to the Central CRS Portal. However, new birth and death registrations will not be entered in the State Portal with effect from July 01, 2026.

The Birth and Death Certificates issued through the Central CRS will be  in the uniform format prescribed by the Registrar General of India (ORGI) and  applicable across the country. However, the certificates issued through the existing State Portal for records which are yet to be published/ migrated to the Central CRS Portal will continue to be issued in the existing format of the State Portal and may differ from the certificates issued through the Central CRS Portal.
