The North Goa District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in coordination with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), and in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), will conduct a Multi-State Mock Exercise on Cyclone & Induced Disasters in Goa and adjoining Coastal Districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra on 1st October, 2026, from 08:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m.
As part of the exercise, sites such as Junta House Building, Panaji Tiswadi Taluka; Candolim Beach, Bardez; Temwada Morjim, Pernem; Shapora River, Sal Village, Bicholim; and Valvanti River, Morlem, near New Bridge, Sattari Taluka have been designated in North Goa District.
The mock exercise will include activation of the Early Warning System and evacuation procedures to assess and strengthen the efficiency of communication, coordination, warning dissemination and emergency response mechanisms. The public is advised to remain calm and not to panic during the exercise. Any warning messages, alerts, evacuation announcements or other emergency response activities observed during the designated period are part of the planned mock exercise.
