Panaji : May 16, 2025 :: The Directorate of Agriculture has been implementing the state sector scheme of farmer’s registration under “Krishi Card” since 2013. Currently there are more than 50,000 farmers registered with the department availing various state sectors as well as Central sector schemes.
Under Krishi card registration we have adopted a unique land Coding system which covers a wide range of farmers from Owner to Encroached lands. Farmer’s lands are categorized into Self owned, inherited, lease, tenant and caretakers. The eligibility of schemes are decided as per respective scheme guidelines. Owners with 1A code Krishi card can avail all the schemes implemented by the department provided they satisfy minimum area required and other specified criteria, However for other land codes benefits are selective.
Three major schemes of the department, i.e, Assured Price for Agriculture Produce, Shetkari Adhar Nidhi and custom services for Agriculture can be availed by all the land codes provided they have valid Krishi card. However, Krishi card cannot be construed or used as legal evidence or proof to establish the right to the declared property.
Scheme benefits are also extended to tenants, leasee, FRA Patta holders etc as per the government guidelines, also as and when required scheme guidelines are amended to extend the benefits to maximum number of farmers, To avail the benefits of all the Agriculture Departmental Scheme it is compulsory for farmer to enroll under Krishi Card. Subsidies and services rendered by the Department of Agriculture has helped many farmers to be Atmanirbhar and Swayampurna as well.
Appeal: Farmers who have not yet enrolled under Krishi card are requested to visit nearest Zonal Agriculture Office with the required documents and register themselves to avail benefits from the department.
