FDA IMPOSES PENALTY OF RS.30,000/- FOR UNHYGIENIC CONDITIONS

Panaji, June 14, 2018 … Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Bambolim has recently designated  Officer under the Food and Safety and Standard Act, 2006 for compounding of offences committed under the above Act, by Food Business Operators and in the first case of compounding, the Designated Officer (South Goa), Smt. Iva Fernandes, has imposed a penalty of Rs. 30,000/- on the proprietor of the manufacturing unit of ‘Suraj Sweet Mart, Canacona for manufacturing for sale, food items, in unhygienic and insanitary conditions, and directed to shut down the manufacturing unit, under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards  Act, 2006, Rules and Regulation, 2011.
