08/03/2014 Members of the goa parivartan manch on Friday submitted a memorandum to the state chief minister Manohar parrikar asking for amendment of section 9 of the goa daman and diu, preservation of tress act which allowed the tree officer to give permission to fell, cut, remove or dispose off, trees under the section 9 act

Addressing media person convener of gpa advocate yatish naik on Saturday said there were certain loop holes in to the section 9 of the amendment which had to be rectified so that in an event if the tree officer failed to give his decision within 60 days from the date of application the permission had to be deemed to be refused and that the appeal could be provided to the conservator of forests who was infact the authority which appointed the tree officer …

Member of the manch govind gaude said that alleged that a large chuck of communidade land in farmagudi area in survery no 159/0 was illegal developed and converted in to sub divided plots by certain government authorities which included forest officials, department, politicians and government bureaucrats
