The District Magistrate, North Goa has constituted a committee to address bull fighting (Dhirio) incidents.
The committee comprising of Jt. Mamlatdar –I, Tiswadi – 9307700279, Police Inspector, Agassaim – 7875756023, Veterinary Officer/ Asst. Director, Dr. Priya Dalal, Tonka – 9822182421 and Shri Kamlakant Tari – 8208957784 towards Animal Welfare Organization for Bull handlers. Similarly, Jt. Mamlatdar –I, Pernem – 9657017127, Police Inspector, Pernem – 7875756166, Veterinary Officer, Dr. Elette da Gama, Mandrem – 9607918129 and Shri Chagan Naik – 8788798211/ 9764843507 for Animal Welfare Organization will respond effectively towards bullfights situations.
The committee will remain alert and responsible for taking necessary and immediate actions during any reported or ongoing bullfight incident. The members are directed to coordinate among themselves and maintain readiness especially in the vulnerable areas identified as fight risk.
