Goan Reporter: Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai Visits North Goa Under “Khushal Kalyan Yatra” Today

Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai visited three holy places in North Goa under the “Khushal Kalyan Yatra” Programme today. The Governor  will  be visiting various Temples, Churches, Darghas and Gurudwaras covering all the Talukas of Goa shortly.

After several successfulyatras across the length and breadth of Goa such as Goa Gram Sampurna Yatra, Saimik Daiz Yatra, Dweep Parichay Yatra and Goa Giriarohan Yatra the Governor has initiated Khushal Kalyan Yatra for offering prayers invoking divine blessings for the peace, happiness and welfare of the people of Goa and the Nation.

On his arrival at Shree Chamundeshwari temple, Vargao in Pilgao, Bicholim,  Shri Premendra Shet, MLA welcomed the Governor by presenting a flower bouquet. Shri Tushar Tople, President of Devasthan, Shri Umesh Govekar, Secretary, Shri Manoj Govekar, Treasurer, Shri Narayan Govekar Attorney and others welcomed the Governor on behalf of Chamundeshwari Devasthan Samiti. Smt. Sharmila Walawalkar, Sarpanch also welcomed the Governor.

Later, the Governor visited Shree Devi Lairai temple in Shirgao, Bicholim. Adv. Shri Dinanath Gaonkar, President of Devasthan with other committee members welcomed the Governor.

Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and First Lady of Goa Smt. Rita Shreedharan Pillai offered prayers at all three temples.

Governor was felicitated on behalf of Chamundeshwari Devasthan and Shree Lairai Sansthan by offering Shawl, Shreephal and a memento.

Governor presented a cheque of Rs. 50,000/ each to Devasthan Samitis.

Governor Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai later visited Milagres Church in Mapusa and offered prayers for happiness and welfare of the people of Goa and the Nation. Dy. Speaker Of Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Joshua De Souza welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers . Fr. Leonardo Moraes briefed him about the functioning of the church.

The Governor was accompanied by Addl. Secretary to the Governor Shri Sanjiv Gauns Desai,  Special Officer to Governor Shri Mihir Vardhan, Historian Shri, Sanjeev Sardesai, and Comptroller of Governor’s Household Shri A. Kalyana Harsha and others.
