Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem, secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Carmel Sports Club, Navelim, to book a spot in the quarterfinals of the 17th St. Anthony Festival Cup 2025, organized by St. Anthony Sports Club Assolda and played at the Moll Ground, Assolda, on Tuesday. The opener came in the 34th minute from Fedrich Fernandes with a well-measured volley. Just before halftime, Velington Almeida’s powerful 30-yard strike for Carmel SC rattled the crossbar. At the break, Guardian Angel SC led 1-0. In the second half, Guardian Angel took full control. Raston Costa netted a brace in the 40th and 59th minutes, while Cyril Dias added another in the 48th. Carmel managed a consolation goal through Velington Almeida. Raston Costa was named Man of the Match and received the award from Guardian Angel Club President Jhoncy Fernandes.
