Goan Reporter: Korgao Panchayat Alleges Political Pressure Behind Repeated Postponement of Sarpanch Election

Korgao Panchayat held a press conference expressing concern over the repeated postponement of the new sarpanch election, which they claim is due to political pressure. Deputy Sarpanch Divakar Jadhav stated that despite several scheduled dates, the election continues to be delayed. When contacted, local MLA Pravin Arlekar declined to comment. Panchayat members have now accused the MLA of influencing the process. The election is currently scheduled for 7th July 2025. The deputy sarpanch and members warned that if the election does not take place on this date, they will take to the streets in protest.
