Goan Reporter News: Governor visits Ranyache Juvem Island

Goa has rich history and has various historical places all over the State. Temples and Churches has  history of hundreds of years said the Governor, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai during his visit to Ranyache Juvem in Nadoda village in Bardez taluka today. During  the visit to ancestral house of Rane Head of the family Shri Mansingh Rane welcomed the Governor and felicitated Spouse of the Governor with traditional Oti.
The Governor evinced  keen interest with history of Maratha Rulers and  the various weapons of the olden times like swords, knives etc.
The Governor speaking further expressed his gratitude and solicited Shri Rane family help for  writing book on Goa’s history of Ranyanche Juvem.
As a part of Dweep  Parichay Yatra  the Governor of Goa Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai  was on tour in Bardez.
To begin his tour  the Governor visited 370 year old Church of Our Lady of Victory at Revora today. He was welcomed by  Fr Brian  Pinto  and  offered prayer. Sarpanch VP. Revora Smt Kanchan V. Gaonkar, Dy Sarpanch Shri Gitesh Bagkar and others were present on the ocassion.
Later at Nadoda, he visited Mauli Bhutnath Devasthan where he was received by Minister for Fisheries Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar. Governor and his spouse were felicitated by Mauli  Bhutnath Devasthan   Committee. The local  village ladies performed fugdi dance on the ocassion. Sarpanch VP. Nadoda Shri Paresh Gawas, Dy. Sarpanch Vishwajya Haldankar,  Director Dept. Official  Language Shri Raju Gawas were present on the ocassion.
Those who accompanied the Governor were  his spouse Adv. Rita  Sreedharan Pillai,  ADC  to the Governor Shri Vishram Borkar, Secretary to Governor Shri M. R. M. Rao IAS, OSD to  Governor  Shri Mihir Vardhan IAS, Additional Secretary to Governor Shri Sanjiv Desai, Comptroller Harsha Kalyani. Dy. Collector Bardez Shri Gurudas Desai, Mamlatdar Bardez Pravin Gawas and others.
The Governor  also paid visit to historical  Corjuvem  Fort  where he was welcomed by  the Sarpanch VP Corjuvem Shri. Ashwin Dsouza, Dy Sarpanch Smt Satardekar, Ward Member Yashwant Parwar. Director  of  Archaeology Goa State Shri Nilesh Faldesai, Historian Sanjiv Sardesai explained the Governor the history  about Cojurvem Fort.
The Governor  thereafter proceeded to visit   Gomantak  Gausevak  Mahasanghas Gaushala  at Sikerim Mayem in Bicholim Taluka. MLA  Mayem Shri Premendra Shet felicitated him by presenting ceremonial lamp.
