United Club of Utorda, in association with the Goa Football Development Council (GFDC), successfully organized a two-week grassroots football summer camp at the floodlit SAG ground in Utorda. Around 140 enthusiastic trainees, both girls and boys aged 6 to 14, took part in the camp, arriving punctually and showing great interest throughout. The camp was led by dedicated coaches Suraj Pujari, Marcos Carvalho, Antonio Pereira, Linet Vaz, Jose Gomes, Cedric Coelho, Jennifer Fernandes, and Damaceno Pereira, who focused on instilling values of fairness, consistency, and discipline in the young players. Navin Fernandes, Senior Program Manager at Dream Sports Foundation, attended the camp and extended his support, offering motivational interactions that inspired the children. The camp concluded with Rev. Fr. Arvino Fernandes, Parish Priest of Utorda, appreciating the club’s efforts in promoting grassroots football. UC Utorda President Trindade Fernandes welcomed the gathering, and Secretary Tony LC Fernandes, in his vote of thanks, acknowledged Fransquinha Oliveira, Member Secretary of GFDC, for approving the camp, the Sports Authority of Goa, and Joe Dias of VJT Arts for their support. In the open sessions, trainees Miss Saanvi G. Kantak and Mervick Fernandes spoke about the positive impact of the camp. The organizing committee included Sports Secretaries Pascoal Vaz and Tony, along with Vincent Fernandes, Albino D. Costa, Tony LC Fernandes, Jhonny Gomes, Inacinho Pereira, Liberata Fernandes, Ana Pacheco, Carmelina Pereira, Assumpta Da Cruz, Bruno Azaredo, Shawn Pereira, Azavedo Gomes, and Camilo Da Cruz. Parents expressed their satisfaction with the initiative and requested an extension of the camp in future editions, highlighting its significant benefits for their children. Nutritious refreshments were also provided to the trainees throughout the camp.
