Cortalim Congress Leader Olencio Simoes and Villagers Demand Urgent Rectification and Re-engineering of Zuari Cable Bridge Access Roads from Cortalim to Bridge Junction and from Toyota to Zuari Bridge

He stated that these sections have unfortunately become accident-prone zones, with multiple incidents being reported in recent months. The current road alignment, design, and lack of adequate safety measures pose significant hazards to motorists.
The sharp curves, unclear signage, especially at night make navigation extremely dangerous for commuters. The situation is further exacerbated by increased vehicular traffic as NH 66 draws traffic from Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, making the urgency for reengineering and structural improvements all the more critical.

We therefore earnestly request the concerned authorities from the PWD and NHAI to immediately Conduct an immediate safety audit of the aforementioned stretches and Redesign and reengineer the road layout to enhance visibility and reduce curvature hazards.
