The 11th edition of the Rotary Rain Run, Goa’s most anticipated monsoon running event, is set to take place on Sunday, July 27, with over 2,500 runners expected to participate in a vibrant show of endurance and purpose through the rain-washed streets of Panaji. Organised by the Rotary Charitable Trust of Porvorim in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Porvorim and the Rotary Parivar, the event aims to raise awareness about women’s cancer, supporting the Prakash Cancer Aid Project. Prominent dignitaries including Mr Subramanian, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Health and Family Welfare, and Goa DGP Alok Kumar are among the participants, adding visibility and significance to the cause. The race will flag off at the SAG Athletics Stadium, Bambolim, featuring categories like the 2 km Fun Walk, 5 km Dream Run, 10 km, and 21 km timed races. The event also includes a Seniority Walk for senior citizens and a Fun Zone for children. “This run is more than a fitness event—it’s a growing movement for health, purpose, and community,” said Avinash Singh Parmar, chairman of the Rotary Rain Run. The 21 km runners will enjoy a scenic route turning at Miramar Circle, with sweeping views of Goa’s coast and heritage landmarks. With a certified course approved by World Athletics in partnership with AIMS, the Rotary Rain Run has built a strong reputation among both amateur and international runners. Registrations close on July 24. Interested participants can sign up at www.rotaryrainrun.com.
