Sao Joao, the vibrant Goan festival dedicated to St. John the Baptist, holds centuries-old cultural significance. Traditionally celebrated with well-jumping, singing, dancing, and colorful processions, the festival embodies joy, gratitude, and a strong sense of community. Upholding this cherished legacy, the youth of Raia parish are organizing ‘Raikarancho Sao Joao’ on Sunday, 22nd June 2025, from 3:00 PM onwards in the church compound. The event will feature colorful kopel-making (flower crowns), traditional games, festive music, delicious food stalls, and refreshing drinks—creating an atmosphere that beautifully reflects the true essence of Sao Joao. Preparations are in full swing across Goa, and Raia’s parish youth are enthusiastically leading the charge. With cultural performances, vibrant events, and spirited competitions planned, the upcoming celebration promises to unite the community in festive joy and shared heritage.
