Goan Reporter:CHIEF MINISTER EXTENDS GREETINGS ON THE OCCASION OF GOA STATEHOOD DAY

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of Goa Statehood Day, commemorating the historic day when Goa attained full statehood on  May 30,  1987 and became the 25th State of the Indian Union.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “Goa Statehood Day is a proud milestone in the glorious journey of Goa, reflecting the aspirations, identity, culture and democratic spirit of the people of the State”. He said “The achievement of statehood was the result of the efforts, sacrifices and determination of several leaders, freedom fighters and citizens who strived to safeguard Goa’s unique heritage and secure its rightful place in the nation”.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant emphasized that under the visionary leadership of   Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is progressing with renewed confidence towards the goal of a Viksit Bharat 2047. He stated that Goa will continue to actively contribute towards realizing the   Prime Minister’s vision by strengthening good governance, sustainable development, innovation, women empowerment, youth participation and people-centric welfare initiatives.

Dr. Sawant further stated “Goa has made remarkable progress across sectors such as education, healthcare, tourism, infrastructure, agriculture, technology and sustainable development over the years while preserving its rich traditions, communal harmony and cultural diversity and that the Government remains committed to building a Swayampurna Goa and ensuring inclusive growth and opportunities for every citizen”.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said “Goa continues to serve as a model State in various developmental parameters and credited the people of Goa for their active participation in the State’s progress and urged citizens, especially the Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Kisan Shakti and commitment toward Garib Kalyan to continue contributing towards the vision of a stronger, self reliant and more prosperous Goa in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat. ”.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant called upon the people to reaffirm their commitment towards preserving Goa’s identity, environment, and values while collectively working towards the continued development of the State. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant once again conveyed his heartfelt greetings to all Goans residing in the State and across the globe on the joyous occasion of Goa Statehood Day.
