Panaji, February 07, 2026:District Magistrate, North Goa has prohibited the use, bursting ignition or operation of fireworks, sparklers, pyrotechnic effects, flame thrower type devices, smoke generators and similar fire smoke producing equipments inside tourist establishments including but not limited to night clubs, bars and restaurants, hotels, guesthouses and resorts, beach shacks,and temporary structures and event venues and entertainment establishments throughout North Goa district. This prohibition applies to all organisers, banquet halls, private function venues, auditoriums operators, and indoor establishments, tourist establishments such as night clubs, bars and restaurants, hotels, guesthouses and resorts, beach shacks, and temporary structures and event venues and entertainment establishments. In exceptional cases, the District Magistrate (or an authorized officer) may grant prior written permission for indoor pyrotechnics provided the applicant submits a detailed safety and risk mitigation plan and all safety documents required for safety compliance. This order shall come into effect from February 08, 2026 and shall remain in operation for a period of 60 days ( both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier. All deputy collectors and Sub-Divisional Magistrates of North Goa are authorised to verify violations of this Order and to file FIR before the concerned police station and lodge complaint before the jurisdictional Judicial Magistrate.
