District Election Officer (DEO), South Goa District is undertaking training and awareness programmes for forthcoming General Election to the Goa Legislative Assembly, 2027 for all stakeholders associated with the election process to familiarize them with the voting procedure and the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs).
The EVM Demonstration Centres (EDCs) will be established across South Goa District at the District Election Office and Offices of Taluka headquarters. These centres will facilitate hands-on demonstrations and provide voters and other stakeholders with an opportunity to understand the operation of EVMs and VVPATs and the voting process.
Mobile Demonstration Vans (MDVs) will be deployed at the Assembly Constituency level to conduct EVM and VVPAT awareness and demonstration activities at polling station locations, public places, market areas and educational institutions throughout South Goa District.
The programme has commenced from October 13, 2026 and will continues until the announcement of the General Election to the Goa Legislative Assembly, 2027.
This initiative aims to enhance voter awareness, familiarize the public with the voting process, and promote informed and confident participation in the forthcoming elections. All citizens, political parties, media and other stakeholders are requested to visit the nearest EVM Demonstration Centre and avail the benefit of the awareness programme.
