The Foundation Stone for the project “Beautification and Illumination of the Surroundings of Shree Bhumika Devalaya, Pilliem, Dharbandora Taluka” was laid by Shri Kedar Naik, MLA of Saligao Constituency and Chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (GTDC).
Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Goa’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage through such developmental initiatives.
Also present on the occasion were ZP Member Dharbandora Shri Rupesh Dessai, ZP Member Sanvordem Shri Mohan Gaonkar, Sarpanch Shri Damodar Naik, Deputy Sarpanch Smt. Suchita Gawas, Panch Members Smt. Swati Gawas, Shri Balaji Gawas, Shri Guru Gaonkar, Shri Ravi Gaonkar, Shri Mahesh Naik and Smt. Kavita Gaonkar, Devasthan President Shri Dattaraj Gawas, devotees and villagers.
The project, being undertaken by GTDC, aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal and spiritual ambience of the temple surroundings while improving facilities for devotees and visitors. The initiative reflects the Government’s commitment towards preserving places of religious and cultural significance and promoting spiritual tourism in Goa.
The gathering welcomed the project and expressed confidence that it would contribute to the overall development of the area while maintaining the sanctity and heritage of the revered temple.
