On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa and the nation.
In his massage, the Governor said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s life remains an enduring example of truth, non-violence, simplicity and service to humanity. His vision of India was rooted not only in political freedom but also in social harmony, dignity of labour, self-reliance and the responsibility of every citizen towards society”.
“Gandhiji regarded cleanliness as an essential part of a healthy and dignified life. The observance of Swachh Bharat Diwas therefore carries a significance that goes beyond the cleanliness of our surroundings. A truly clean India requires a sustained change in our habits, attitudes and civic behavior”, the Governor said.
“As we commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, let us renew our commitment to keeping our surroundings clean, protecting our environment, respecting public spaces and contributing responsibly to our communities. Cleanliness must become a daily discipline and a shared responsibility, rather than an occasional campaign”, the Governor added.
“May this day inspire us to translate Gandhiji’s timeless ideals into action and work together towards a cleaner, healthier, more compassionate and more responsible India”, the Governor concluded.
