Directorate of Skill Development and  Entrepreneurship has launched a new scheme “Mukhyamantri Sukanya Kaushal Vikas Protsahan Yojana-2026”, for granting 100% tuition fee waiver to female candidates enrolling in Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s) in the state from the Academic Year 2026-27 onwards.

Earlier, the tuition fee was waived off only for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, BPL, candidates having annual family income below 3 lakh, orphans and destitute Children, whereas the “Female candidates” were not eligible for tuition fee waiver solely on the basis of gender and were required to pay the prescribed tuition fee, unless they belonged to one of these above categories.

The  Academic Year 2026-27, the Government has extended the benefit of 100% tuition fee waiver to female candidates by including all female candidates in the category eligible for tuition fee waiver. Consequently, now every eligible female candidate is exempted from payment of the tuition fee of ₹2,500/- irrespective of her social category or family income.

The admission fee comprises of three different components are the Online application processing fee, tuition fee and caution money deposit (Refundable). While the tuition fee has been waived off for eligible categories, the refundable caution money deposit continues to be payable at the time of admissions, which is discharged upon successful completion of the course.

The scheme aims to promote Women empowerment, enhance employability, increase female enrollment in ITI courses and foster economic Self-reliance among women and contribute wards building Atmanirbhar and inclusive Goa.

So the Department urged the female candidates to take advantage of this scheme and apply admissions in nearby ITI’s for skilling, up-skilling and re-skilling.
