North Goa District Mineral Foundation Trust (NGDMFT) conducted its XVIIth governing council meeting under the chairmanship of North Goa Collector Shri. Ankit Yadav, IAS.
The meeting was attended by Member Trustees, MLAs Shri Premendra Shet and Dr. Deviya Rane, Dy. Director of Mines & Member Secretary, NGDMFT, Shri Ratnakant Govenker, Member Trustees from various government departments and the mining sector, and representatives of project-proponent departments.
The Council reviewed sanctioned projects worth over ₹15 crore across skill development, education, healthcare, animal husbandry and other sectors.
The meeting also approved new proposals worth over ₹6 crore, including supplementary subsidies for rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and for farmers in mining-affected areas, scholarships for Mining Engineering students at Goa Engineering College, smart classrooms and a Digital Learning Centre at Government Polytechnic, Bicholim, and upgradation of the OT and TruNat room at CHC Bicholim. Other approved projects include an MRF Shed for SMC Sanquelim and a skill development training project.
The Council further approved measures to streamline the DMF project sanctioning process for greater efficiency and timely implementation. The Annual Report for 2025–26 was approved, and the formulation of the Perspective Plan and Annual Plan was discussed.
The meeting reaffirmed NGDMFT’s commitment to the welfare and sustainable socio-economic development of mining-affected communities.
