The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration has informed that District Magistrate- North Goa has imposed penalty on food business operators for manufacturing and selling sub-standard food items.
Penalty of Rs. 20,000/- is imposed on Shri Vipul Rathi (Manager), Shri Dinesh Kumar Rathi (Proprietor), M/s Sunrise Sweet and Sunrise Kajuwalla, Shop No. 8 and 9, Velho Trade Centre, Opp. Municipal Market, Panaji, Tiswadi Goa. And M/s Sunrise Sweets, H.No. 535, Malim, Betim, Bardez, for selling sub-standard Mysore Pak.
The sample of Mysore Pak was found to contain Tartazine content at 286.61 mg/kg which exceeds the specified standard limit of max 100 mg/kg.
