The Forest Department has issued notification revising the rates under the Scheme for grant of compensation on account of loss of human life, permanent disability or injury caused by wild animals.
The compensation for damage by wild animals for causing death/ permanent disability or injury to human caused by wild animal will be determined and paid based on the terms and conditions rates. Compensation on account of loss of human life caused by wild animals will be of Rs. 15,00,000/-; for permanent disability (viz loss of limb, eye, etc will be of Rs. 7,50,000/- and for injury other than permanent disability such as minor injury- Rs. 50,000/- will be the compensation and for grievous injury, partial disability Rs. 2,00,000/- will be paid; subject to certification of Government Doctor with reference to the category of injury.
Further the rate of compensation for loss of cattle/ property due to wild animals attack and other terms and conditions will remain same as earlier.
