The Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, will be the chief guest for State-level Seminar on “Latest Technologies and Emerging Opportunities in Agriculture on July 7, 2026 at Ravindra Bhavan, Sakhali from 9:30 am. to 5:00 p.m. orgazined by Department of Agriculture.
The seminar aims to provide a platform for farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), agricultural entrepreneurs, students, researchers, extension personnel and other stakeholders to interact with eminent scientists, subject matter specialists and successful entrepreneurs and gain first-hand knowledge of the latest technological advancements and emerging opportunities in agriculture.
The seminar will feature technical sessions on bamboo cultivation and its potential; jackfruit post-harvest technology and processing; spice cultivation and processing; success stories in vegetable cultivation and horticulture; role of farmer producer Organizations (FPOs) in post-harvest management and agricultural marketing
The sessions will be conducted by experienced scientists, technical experts, entrepreneurs and progressive farmers, who will share practical experiences, innovative technologies and successful business models that can be adopted by farmers in Goa.
The seminar has been designed with a special focus on diversification of agriculture and allied activities; promotion of value addition and agri-processing; strengthening entrepreneurship among farmers and rural youth; encouraging the formation and growth of Farmer Producer Organizations; adoption of climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing market access and income generation through modern technologies.
The Department has also invited officials from various Government departments, research institutions, universities. Village Panchayats. Self Help Groups, educational institutions and development agencies to facilitate wider participation and dissemination of knowledge the farming community.
Interested farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, students, researchers and member public interested in agriculture are encouraged to participate in the seminar. Registration completed through the Google Form circulated by the Department.
