Panaji: February 20, 2026
The Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT) will be
organising a Taluka-wise detailed Orientation Program on the National Education Policy (NEP–2020) for Parent-Teachers’ Association (PTAs), School Management Committees (SMCs) and Management members of Government and Government Aided/Unaided Primary and High Schools. The program will commence from Quepem Taluka on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The program is designed to strengthen awareness and understanding of the key
provisions, objectives and implementation framework of NEP–2020.
As parents are vital stakeholders in the educational ecosystem, their active participation is essential for the successful and effective implementation of the Policy at the school level. This
initiative aims to build clarity, confidence and collaboration among all stakeholders.
Senior officials from GSCERT, the Directorate of Education, Goa Board of
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Goa Samagra Shiksha will be part of the program. Their presence will ensure that participants receive authentic information and clear guidance regarding curricular reforms, assessment reforms, academic structure and future implementation plans under NEP–2020.
A key highlight of the program is that parents and management members will have the opportunity to directly interact with policymakers and senior officials. This interactive platform will enable open dialogue, clarification of doubts and
constructive feedback, thereby fostering transparency and collective ownership of
educational reforms in the State.
GSCERT appeals to all Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), School Management
Committees and Management members to actively participate in the program and
contribute meaningfully to this important educational reform initiative. A detailed
Taluka-wise schedule has already been communicated to the respective schools for necessary coordination and participation.
Through this initiative, GSCERT reaffirms its commitment to inclusive participation
and collaborative governance in the implementation of NEP–2020, ensuring that parents and school communities are active partners in shaping the future of education in Goa.
