Marking a historic milestone for Goa Police, the “Ride of Pride” Rally was flagged off today from the Police Headquarters Ground, Panaji, as part of the celebrations leading up to the presentation of the prestigious President’s Colour to Goa Police. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant flagged off the rally, marking the beginning of its journey across the State.

Celebrating the honour through a statewide journey, the rally will traverse Goa, travelling from Police Headquarters through North Goa to Patradevi, onwards to Canacona and South Goa, before returning through the Kushavati region. Carrying the message of “Shaurya, Suraksha and Seva,” the rally seeks to take the significance of the recognition to communities across the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “Goa is now among the select states to receive the prestigious President’s Colour, and this is a matter of immense pride and honour for the State and the entire Goa Police Force.” He highlighted the significance of the “Ride of Pride” as part of the celebrations and congratulated Goa Police personnel for their dedication, commitment and service to the people of Goa.

Strengthening policing capabilities remains a key focus of the Government, with continued efforts towards modernising law-enforcement infrastructure, technology, specialised capabilities and training. CM Dr. Sawant highlighted the establishment of forensic laboratory facilities during his tenure, further strengthening the capabilities of Goa Police in investigation and crime detection.

The programme was attended by Shri Alok Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP), Goa, and Shri K. R. Chaurasia, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Goa, along with senior police officers and personnel of Goa Police.
