Directorate of Women and Child Development (WCD) has invited nominations/ application for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar award (PMRBP). The PMRBP is a prestigious National award conferred by the Government of India to recognize exceptional achievements of children in various fields.
The award is instituted to honor meritorious young individuals under six categories Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art and Culture and Science and Technology. The award will be conferred by the President of India in a Special Ceremony at New Delhi.
The eligibility to apply for the PMRBP are as follows is a child who is an Indian Citizen and is resident of India; a child above the age of 5 years and not exceeding 18 years (as on July 31, 2026); the act/incident/achievement should have been within 2 years of the last date of receipt of application/nomination for the year of consideration in the website i.e https://awards.gov.in. and the applicant should not be a previous recipient of the same award earlier in any category.
Similarly, about the nomination it is said that any individual or institution may nominate children with exceptional achievements for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP). Children may also apply through self-nomination. Recommendations shall also be invited from the Central Ministers [Cabinet Minister/ Minister of State (Independent charge)/ Minister of States], Chief Ministers/ Governors/ Lieutenant Governors/Administrators of all States/ UTs, Members of Parliament, Ministries/Departments of the Central Government, State Governments/ UT Administrations, Principal Secretaries of Women and Child Development/ Social Welfare of States/ UTs, District Magistrates/ Collectors, Educational Institutions/schools under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan/ Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
Further while finalizing recommendations, the following aspects may be ensured the recommended children are exceptionally deserving of national level award. Public service as part of their achievements is desirable. Special efforts are made to identify talented children from among girls, weaker sections, SC/ST Communities and divyang persons.
The last date for submission of nominations/ recommendations/ applications online is till July 31, 2026.
Those eligible candidates who wish to submit their nominations through Governor of Goa’s login may kindly submit details along with a brief profile, supporting documents and achievements in hard copy to the Directorate of Women and Child Development, 2nd Floor, Old Education Building, 18th June Road, Panaji on or before July 4, 2026 so that the same may be forwarded to Lok Bhavan for scrutiny and further submission on the portal.
