Addressing media persons after the cabinet meet on Friday chief minister laxmikhant Parsekar whose government completed six months on Friday said that the cabinet had also decided to extend another two years for kids of freedom fighters for applying for various government jobs in the state and also mentioned about 20 coaches being approved in sports authority of goa on contract basis

Commenting over political parties crying over increase in water and power tariff in the state Parsekar said that the state of goa had the lowest water bills and also power tariff than other states like delhi, Maharashtra, gujrat, Karnataka, rajasthan, mahdya Pradesh and tamil nadu ….

Parsekar also stated that his government had decided to remove the sunset clause from the land tenancy act and had also approved around 38 projects in the state worth 2138 crores which would create a job for around 65, 000 people in the next few years

Commenting on the power billing system in the state Naik said that the consumers in the state would now be able to get the power bill bi monthly due to the efforts put in by the officials of goa electronic limited

Naik also stated that the revenue collections through the power bills after the introduction of bill bi monthly had increased tremendously

CM LAUNCHES STATE WIDE CAMPAIGN “BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO”

Panaji: May 7,2015 … The Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said that, investment on girl child yields good result. A society which upholds women dignity and respect is a prosperous and developed society. Therefore he said it is for all of us to introspect about decline  in male and female sex ratio.   

Shri Parsekar was speaking after launching State wide Campaign “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” at a function held in the city today. The function was organized by The Directorate Women and Child Development.

Shri Parsekar further speaking said that we have to strive to arrest inhuman practices of gender detection. The welfare and empowerment of society will not be complete without the welfare and empowerment of women. Therefore Government is committed to the development and welfare of women and has implemented various schemes like Laadli Laxmi or Gruha Aadhar and other schemes for their education as well. He hoped for participation of community in large for the grand success of this campaign.   

Minister for Women and Child Development Shri Dilip Parulekar in his address said that Government is concerned about the empowerment and safety of girl child and therefore has implemented scheme like Laadli Laxmi, Gruha Aadhar etc. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the Government for the grand success of this campaign in the state he added and complimented the Department for successful organization of the function .

Chief Secretary Shri R.K. Srivastav while speaking at the function said that decline in the sex ratio can hamper social balance therefore balance of sex ration of male and female is very important. Although the sex ratio is quite satisfactory in Goa yet we have to strive to improve a lot in this regard. He called for suggestions from persons, organizations NGOs  working in this sector for the success of this campaign.    

Smt. Neela Mohanan, Collector North Goa in her welcome address briefing about the campaign “Beti bachao Beti Padhao” informed that, it is the initiative of the Central Government which is launched in 100 districts all over the country has threefold purpose, to stop gender discrimination,  to stop prenatal sex detection, Universalization of ICDS and Providing Safe atmosphere for girl child. 

Shri V.N. Shetye Director DRDA North, Smt. Sunita Sawant Dy. Superintendent of Police North Goa, Shri Swapnil Naik Addl. Collector North, Shri Jaykumar Vernekar Asst.AO Directorate of Women and Child Development  and members of various NGOs working in this sector attended the function.

Sporting Clube de Goa Grassroots Festival on Sunday

07/05/2015 … Sporting Clube de Goa will conduct their 3rd Grassroots Football Festival at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, on Sunday 10th May 2015, from 9.30am onwards.

 This Grassroots festival is an advanced commemoration of AFC Grassroots day which falls on 15th May.

 “Grassroots Football is all about playing football in a fun-filled environment. It provides the base for the football pyramid,” stated Sporting Clube de Goa CEO Victor Fernandes.

 This time the festival is open to boys and girls. Youngsters who have taken part before are also welcome.

 Sporting Goa conducted a Grassroots festival in the North and South of Goa this season where a total of thirty Schools were invited and over 350 wards took part.

 Due to popular demand, Sporting Clube de Goa has now thrown the gates open to boys and girls in the 8 to 12 age group who would like to participate in the exciting festival.

 “It is proven that small-sided games give young players more touches on the ball which will help improve their technique. I hope the youth of Goa come forward to participate as these opportunities were not available when we were younger,” remarked Sporting Clube de Goa Head Coach Mathew Costa.  

 There is no fee for participating. Registration closes at 9.20 am on Sunday. Those children born between 01-01-2003 and 01-01-2006 are eligible to participate.

ONLINE PAYMENTS OF ELECTRICITY/P.W.D. BILLS

Panaji: May 6, 2015 … The Electricity Department, P.W.D. and Goa Electronics Limited, Government of Goa in association of Department of Information Technology, have enabled Online Payments of Electricity Bills through State Portal (https://www.goa.gov.in).

  With this facility, the Electricity and Water Supply consumers will be able to Pay Electricity/Water Bills Online through various e-Payments modes such as Credit Card, Debit Card and Internet Banking of all banks.  In order, to facilitate these Online Payments the State is using State Bank of India, Payment Gateway.

 The service charges to avail e-Payments by Debit Card, Internet Banking is absorbed by Government, whereas the service charges to avail Online Payments through Credit Card is levied on the consumer.

 With this initiative, the consumers will be enabled to Pay Electricity/Water bills at their convenient place and time thereby relieving the Consumers in standing long queues and saving their valuable time.

 A.    CASES UNDER IPC

 1.         Curchorem P. S. Cr. No. 29/15 U/s 324 IPC

            That on 03/05/2015 at 22.09 hrs. Shri Pravin Purushottam Sawant Dessai r/o Davnamal, Kalay, Sanguem, lodged his complaint that on 03/05/2015 at 18.30 hrs. at Check point Periudak, Sanvordem, accused Aditya Ashok  Sawant Dessai, r/o Devnamal, Kalay, Sanguem, assaulted him with wooden danda on his head and hand thereby causing him injuries.  Further investigation is in progress.

2.      Margao Town  Cr. No. 167/15 U/s 356, 379 IPC

            That on 03/05/2015 at 19.45 hrs. registered an offence upon the complaint of Mrs. Samiksha d/o Yeshwant Madgaonkar, r/o Dicarpali, Near Madina Furniture, Salcete,Goa, that on 03/05/2015 at around 18.25 hrs., at Gandhi Market, Margao, Goa, accused person namely Jaffar Ahmed, s/o Nazir Ahmed, r/o Azad Nagar, Margao, Goa, used criminal force and snatched away black colour Samsung Neo mobile from her possession W/Rs.15,000/- , thus committed theft. Accused arrested at 21.15 hrs. and kept in PS lock up.  Further investigation is in progress.

B.     UN-NATURAL DEATH CASES

1.      Vasco PS U.D. No. 32/15 U/s 174 Cr.P.C.

              That on 03/05/2015 at 07.30 hrs. Vasco PS received phone call from X 92 informing that one lady is lying near MMC Building Vasco, Accordingly visited the spot and found one dead body of female by name Karuna (Full name not known). Description of the deceased, Aged about 35 to 40 yrs., Height- 5’5”, Wearing Chudidar with top dark blue. Conducted Inquest panchanama and dead body preserved in GMC morgue, Bambolim for further legal formalities. Further investigation is in progress.

2.      Ponda PS U.D. No. 58/15 U/s 174 Cr.P.C.

             That on 03/05/2015 at 16.00 hrs. Ponda PS received phone call from PC 6065 Shri Pankaj Valvoikar of Police outpost Marcel informing that one Joseph Noronha Alfonso, aged 47 yrs., r/o Deulwada, Marcel, near PWD water tank found dead in his house. Visited the spot and conducted scene cum inquest panchanama and dead body shifted to GMC morgue, Bambolim for preservation and further legal formalities. Further investigation is in progress.

3.      Margao Town PS U.D. No. 49/15 U/s 174 Cr.P.C.

            That on 03/05/2015 at 15.55 hrs. Margao Town PS received phone call from PCR Margao informing that one unknown male person, aged around 45-50 yrs., r/o not known is lying dead near Virginkar Petrol Pump, Opp MMC Garden, Margao, Goa. Accordingly informed to P.I. Margao Town PS and Superiors. Conducted scene cum inquest panchanama and dead body preserved in GMC morgue, Bambolim, for further legal formalities. Further investigation is in progress.

4.      Margao Town PS U.D. No. 50/15 U/s 174 Cr.P.C.

                That on 03/05/2015 at 21.00 hrs. Margao Town PS received phone call from unknown person informing that one unknown male person, aged around 50-55 yrs., is lying dead near Damodar lodge, Station Road, Margao, Goa. Accordingly visited the spot and dead body preserved at GMC morgue, Bambolim for further legal formalities. Further investigation is in progress.
