 Addressing press media after the cabinet briefing chief minister Manohar Parrikar said the amendment to the Indian stamp act included levy of stamp duties in matter of amalgamation and merger of companies, stamp duty on transfer of shares and levy of stamp duty on equitable modalities …

 Parrikar said that the cabinet had approved the two changes were made in to the goa building lease rent and eviction control act such as

 Parrikar also informed about the modification made in conversion fees and powers to state government on dump rejection under the land revenue code act and advance fees in mutation cases

22-04-2013 … The Goa BJP party on Monday warned traders not to create artificial shortage of vegetables in the market by hoarding vegetables in the wake of the protest on entry tax adopted by vendors from Maharashtra and Karnataka.

addressing a media press conference at the party head office in Panjim bjp spokesperson subash faldesai said that the state government would take action against those vendors who are found indulging in hoarding of vegetables and would keep a check on such vendors who were trying to keep artificial shortage.

Faldesai said that the tax was marginal one and the same revenue would help the state government in implementing more schemes and developmental projects

Faldesai also came down heavily on opposition party for working against the interest of the state by opposing the concept of entry tax and mentioned that the state congress party in their term of the government had not done anything good for the welfare of the state.

Meanwhile vegetable and essential commodities wholesalers from the capital market in Panjim mentioned that from Tuesday supply of vegetables and other essential commodities would be stopped entering in to the state by the vendors from Maharashtra and Karnataka after which there won’t be any vegetables and other essential commodities for goans

20-04-2013 … The pilot waste management project of collecting dry waste from in and around the vicinity of corlim village seems to have gone well for the village Panchayat of corlim as more than 2 tones of dry waste garbage has been collected by v-recycle a private waste management services who have been assigned the task of making corlim village free from dry waste in the next few months …

It may be noted that the issue of tackling garbage management specially the dry waste in to the village jurisdiction of corlim has been started with the support of sygenta limited company situated through its ngo margdarshak and aim to have a plastic free and clean village that uses sustainable model that has cent collection compliance with an environment friendly treatment and disposal system

 The collection of dry waste in the vicinities of corlim village would also help in tackling the issues of waste generated in and around corlim villages specially the dry waste which is being collected twice in a week by the labourers of v-recycle and then the same is being sorted out at a sorting station situated in corlim industrial estate

18-04-2013 … Vehicle passerby’s along the banastarim-old goa highway road were allowed to have a pleasant time on tuesday evening trying to refresh themselves as well as their vehicles from the hot weather after a plug of a 900 mm water pipe line connecting opa to tiswaddi area suddenly got unplugged close to the banastarim bridge at around 3 pm due to which even water to tiswaddi area was restricted for some time ….

Though the plug hole was a small one the pressure of the water was so much that the water from the pipeline reached on the banastarim-old goa highway road moving from the water pipeline hole towards sky’s and back down on the highway road where in many passerby’s who were moving in their two and three wheelers tried to stop their vehicles under the pressure water and took a chance from the hot weather taking water on their vehicles while some got wet taking rain bath in the water …

Though the officials of works division three of the public works department reached at the site on time it was such a pressure that it lasted for almost more than half and hour after which pwd officials tried their best using a part of a stick to close the hole for the time being

Speaking to goanreporter a employee attached to the pwd division three said that a plug cap of the 900 mm water pipeline had come out suddenly creating a hole in the pipe and due to the water pressure water had reached the highway road

14-04-2013 … Condemning the decision of the state government of not giving permission to hold a public meeting in regard to the rape case social activist advocate aires Rodrigues has decided to tame up the matter with the goa human rights commission for the malafied and un democratic action taken up by the state government

Adv. Rodrigues further stated that the public meeting which was scheduled for April 15^th has been disallowed by the government after Adv. Anacleto Viegas, Secretary General of United Goans Democratic party wrote to the Vasco Police to deny permission to hold the meeting as there was likelihood of breach of peace.
