4-feb-2013 … In a special gram sabha meet members of the village Panchayat of corlim on Sunday passed a resolution demanding for Special Status to Goa a resolution which has been asked by the gram sabha members to be forwarded to the Chief Minister of Goa on behalf of the villager’s of Corlim

The other resolution passed at the gram sabha meet were that all multi-storied mega project developments be immediately stopped and no permission be granted for any future mega projects, all village roads be limited to less than 5m width, buffer zone of radius 1.5 km from the Panchayat Building of Corlim be established in which no new multi-storied buildings can be constructed, all new applications for water and electricity be carefully studied by Corlim Panchayat including ground water and the same be advised to the respective Departments

it was also noticed that a panch member victor Pereira was seen sitting in the middle of the gram sabha members trying to discuss about the issue of the local village Panchayat with the members of the gram sabha

also it was brought to the notice of the Panchayat body member’s by the villagers of Corlim that the approved plans of the massive mega-project which had show the existing road width of the village road as 6 mts on tcp plan was totally wrong as the present road width varies from 3m to lessthan 6mts at different locations along the road bordering the construction project due to which the villagers requested that building license be revoked but however the  Panchayat assured the villagers that  they will call for inspection of the road site near the construction of the concerned project by The Town & Country Planning Department and the PWD and the panchayat informed that the concerned members would be invited during the  Site Inspection ..

Meanwhile panch member victor Pereira also brought to the notice of gram sabham members of  his idea of having a garbage treatment plant for the village of corlim …

Though the parliamentary elections are slated to take place in 2014 there had been talks that the state nationalist congress party was in process of asking the former home minister ravi naik to fight the north goa parliamentary seat on the ncp ticket which was denied by the formed home minister after which the party is believed to have taught of looking out for a candidate from his own party …

Sources said the state ncp party were in talks of convincing the former revenue minister to fight the north goa parliamentary seat on the ncp ticket where in coalition partners the congress party would support the ncp party candidate

PONDA PS:  Shri Rupesh s/o Laxmikant Prabhu r/o Borim-Ponda complained that on 28.01.13 at 13.30 hrs. at Borim, accused Vasusha  w/o Ravindranath  Nipanikar  r/o  Shirshire rode his Pleasure scooter  No. GA-05-H-0380 in a rash and negligent  manner,  dashed  to his  son namely  Sushant  Prabhu and  caused  injury  to his right  leg. Accused being arrested. Cr.No.34/13 u/s 279, 338 IPC and134 (a) (b) of M. V. Act registered.

ANJUNA PS:Complaint on behalf of the State that on 30.01.13 at 22.50 hrs. at UV Bar and restaurant  Praisewada,  Anjuna accused  Manjunath  s/o  Ramappa Naik, age 20 yrs.  N/O Gadag at present r/o St.  Anthonywada, Anjuna was found playing loud amplified music without having permission from competent authority beyond 22.00 hrs. MAPUSA PS: Mrs.  Margarat Fernandes r/o Sodiem, Siolim complained that on 30.01.13 at around 06.50 hrs.  at Tropa  Church  Sodiem  Accused 1)  Domnic D’Souza,  President  of  World  revival  Ministry, 2)  James  and 3)  Inacio  ( full  names  not known)  with their  common intention  stopped  her  scooter  while she  was going  to church  for  Mass at Tropa  church,  further  abused  her  saying  bad words and came  to assault  and  pushed  her  and  threatened  her with  dire  consequence. fish markets open in capital city

31-jan-2013 … Fish market in the capital city of Panjim remained open on Thursday morning after the fish vendors from the Panjim fish market had remained close for the past two days extending their support to the ongoing strike by the fishing trawler owners over the hike in the diesel prices done by the central government in the state remained closed today

It may be noted that fish markets in the cities like Panaji, Margao, Vasco,  Mapusa  and others had gone on strike from Tuesday due to which there was no trade in the markets as with fish vendors not turning up to sell fish in the market in support of the All Goa Fishermen’s Federation who had began agitation since Saturday demanding that the hike in the diesel prices by the central government be rolled back.

But due to two days closure of fish market, less crowd was noticed at the city fish market on Thursday

Meanwhile chief minister Manohar Parrikar also gave his views over the central governments decision of raising a hike in diesel prices

tons of garbage lies unnoticed at panjim football ground

31-jan-2013 … With no authorities taking responsibility of cleaning up the mess that had been done during the four days grape escapade festival in the past few days Heaps of garbage had forced its way at the corner area of the Panjim football ground raising questions on who is responsible to clean up the mess which is lying un-cleaned at the football ground …

It may be noted that few days back a four day wine and haute cuisine festival organized by Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd and the Department of Tourism was organized at the Panjim football ground

Though The unique cultural experience had brought in together dignitaries attached with the global industries of wine, food, beverages and lifestyle but what ever the organizers used for making the event a success is now lying at the corner of the panjim football ground .

But though the festival had been a success the organizers seems to have forgotten their responsibility of cleaning up the mess from the area which had been left un-cleaned and gives a shabby look for the ground even when lakhs of rupees were spent on organizing the great escapade 2013 …

Various form of garbage such as glass bottles, pieces of glass bottles, plastic of various form and other utility items are been dumped at the corner of the football ground and have not yet been collected till date due to which there is a fear that the same waste could find its way in to the river in the next few days which could create river pollution …

Speaking to goanreporter ccp mayor vaidehi naik said that the permission to hold the event was given with pre conditions to the organizers and therefore it was the responsibility of the organizers to clean up the area …

Meanwhile chief minister and mla of Panjim constituency Manohar Parrikar said it was for the ccp to take action immediately on such issues

The members who meet the chief minister Manohar Parrikar demanded compensation to the launch owners who were facing a loss of over a lakh of rupees a month where in the owners were forced to pay their workers monthly salary without any work for the past few months …

It may be noted that there have been voices from various politicians raised on mopa airport who had stated that the upcoming airport at mopa was not in the interest of goa and goans and therefore were totally against the coming of an airport at mopa in pernem

28-jan-2013 … Stating that the ccp councilors might have taken the decision of putting a ban on film shootings and exhibitions following the traffic congestion inside the capital city Chief minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said that the decision of allowing to hold exhibitions in the ccp jurisdiction was up to ccp council while allowing of film shootings was with the collector and the entertainment society of goa …

It may be noted that the decision of putting a ban on film shootings and exhibitions in the capital city was welcomed by the citizens from the ccp jurisdiction the same had drawn criticism from state minister as well as local politicians who had said that putting a ban was not the right way and there could be ways of adjusting and accommodating people and their interests.

Speaking to media reporter’s chief minister Manohar Parrikar said that though ccp might had put up a ban due to traffic congestion the issue had to be handled in the right manner as putting a ban was not the solution for ccp
